Rubber to Metal Bonded Products

Rubber components are being used in engineering applications, since very long due to its unmatched properties such as flexibility. There are numerous engineering applications of Rubber Components, most of which are used as composite, with metal or fabric, as reinforcing agent.

Though Metal can be glued to rubber by the adhesive, the strength of such bonding is not enough for engineering applications, where high bond strength is the primary requirement. Rubber bonding is one of the most critical subjects of Rubber engineering.

Rubber Concept manufactures rubber bonding components since 1984, and over the years, we have gained reputation of being industry leader.

Some of the Rubber overmoulding parts, used in various industrial applications are:

  • Rubber Seals
  • Engine Mounts
  • Rubber Gaskets
  • Antivibration Mounts
  • Shock absorbers
  • Shaft Seals
  • Rubber Roller
  • Vibration dampers
  • Bridge Bearings

Our team specializes in designing and developing customized Rubber to metal bonded components, as per customer requirement.

Rubber Concept handles following metals to make Rubber to metal bonded engineering parts:

  • Mild Steel (MS)
  • Cast Iron
  • Stainless Steel
  • Aluminium
  • Brass

At Rubber Concept, our technical team specially designs rubber compounds, not only to meet good bonding between rubber and metal, but also, durable service life.

Rubber Concept can bond following rubber with metal inserts:

  • Natural Rubber
  • Polychloroprene (Neoprene) Rubber
  • Silicone Rubber
  • SBR Rubber
  • Nitrile (NBR) Rubber
  • EPDM Rubber
  • Fluoropolymers, FKM (Viton)

All the metal inserts are fabricated at the workshop of Rubber Concept on various engineering machineries. Wherever required, certified outside agencies are employed for special treatment.

After fabrication, Metal inserts undergo special treatments, to ensure good bonding between rubber and metal inserts. Depending on the requirement, few or all of the following treatments are performed on metal inserts: Surface roughening, Degreasing, Sand blasting, Solvent cleaning, Zinc coating etc.

All the metal inserts are then coated with adhesives, making sure that all bonding area are evenly coated. The dried adhesive coated metal inserts are then taken for moulding process in the hydraulic press, in designated mould, which are then moulded along with required rubber compound. At Rubber Concept, care is taken at all steps, to make strong rubber bonding with metal inserts.
